Nigeria Revenue Service Launches Rev360: What the New Tax Platform Means for Taxpayers

The Nigeria Revenue Service has officially launched Rev360, a new tax administration platform designed to make tax processes more modern, transparent, and easier for taxpayers to manage.

According to a press release issued in Abuja on April 30, 2026, the launch of Rev360 marks the Service’s transition to what it describes as Tax Administration 3.0. The platform is expected to move Nigeria’s tax system beyond manual and partly digitized processes into a more integrated, intelligent, and taxpayer-focused model.

What Is Rev360?

Rev360 is the next-generation digital tax platform introduced by the Nigeria Revenue Service to improve how taxpayers interact with the tax system.

The platform is designed to simplify tax processes, improve service delivery, increase transparency, and give users better visibility into tax transactions. For taxpayers, consultants, businesses, and public institutions, this means tax obligations may become easier to track, manage, and complete.

The NRS described Rev360 as a major step from manual and digitized processes to a fully integrated and taxpayer-centred system.

Why the Launch Matters

Tax administration affects businesses, workers, consultants, investors, and government revenue. When tax processes are slow, confusing, or difficult to follow, compliance becomes harder.

Rev360 is expected to solve some of these issues by creating a more seamless system. The platform is also part of a broader institutional transformation agenda under the leadership of the NRS Executive Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, PhD.

In the statement, Dr. Adedeji said Rev360 reflects the Service’s commitment to building a tax system that works for Nigerians, strengthens trust in public institutions, and supports economic growth. Channels Television also reported that the platform will begin with medium and emerging taxpayers before extending to government and large taxpayers.

What Taxpayers Should Expect

The introduction of Rev360 is expected to bring several improvements across the tax lifecycle.

Taxpayers may experience faster service delivery, simplified processes, better transparency, and improved access to tax records and transactions. The system is also expected to support better compliance by making it easier for taxpayers to understand and manage their obligations.

For consultants and professional tax advisers, the platform may provide a more organized system for handling clients’ tax-related matters. For businesses, it could reduce unnecessary delays and improve confidence in digital tax processes.

NRS Prepared Users Before the Launch

Before the official go-live of Rev360, the Nigeria Revenue Service said it completed a nationwide readiness programme to prepare taxpayers and stakeholders.

This included end-user training across tax offices, stakeholder webinars, physical sensitization sessions, live demonstrations, guided walkthroughs, product videos, change impact videos, how-to support materials, and the Rev360 User Guide.

The Service also said it had deployed a structured feedback and support system. This includes frequently asked questions, a multi-channel feedback process, and a response system for resolving user complaints and inquiries.

These preparations are important because the success of a new digital tax platform depends not only on the technology itself, but also on how well users understand and adopt it.

Rollout Will Happen in Phases

The transition to Rev360 will not happen for every taxpayer category at once. According to the NRS, the rollout will be implemented in phases.

The first phase will begin with medium and emerging taxpayers. After that, the system will extend to government and large taxpayers.

This phased approach is likely meant to make the rollout more structured, reduce confusion, and allow the Service to manage onboarding properly.

What This Means for Businesses in Nigeria

For Nigerian businesses, Rev360 could become an important tool for managing tax compliance. Many business owners struggle with understanding tax requirements, keeping records, tracking payments, and responding to tax-related notices.

If properly implemented, Rev360 may help businesses reduce paperwork, avoid unnecessary visits to tax offices, and manage tax obligations with better clarity.

It may also help improve trust between taxpayers and tax authorities because transparency is one of the major promises of the platform.

What This Means for Tax Consultants

Tax consultants, accountants, and professional advisers should pay close attention to the Rev360 rollout.

As the platform becomes active, consultants may need to learn the new process, guide clients, understand the dashboard, follow new filing procedures, and help businesses transition smoothly.

The availability of user guides, webinars, FAQs, and support channels will be important for professionals who handle tax matters for individuals and companies.

Why Nigerians Should Pay Attention

Even if you are not a large business owner, tax administration affects the wider economy. A better tax system can improve compliance, reduce bottlenecks, increase government revenue, and support public services.

The launch of Rev360 shows that Nigeria’s revenue system is moving further into digital administration. This means individuals and businesses may need to become more familiar with online tax platforms, digital records, and proper documentation.

Final Thoughts

The launch of Rev360 by the Nigeria Revenue Service is a major development in Nigeria’s tax administration system. It represents a move toward a more modern, transparent, and taxpayer-friendly structure.

For taxpayers, the most important thing is to stay informed, follow official updates, and learn how the platform works. For businesses and consultants, early preparation will make the transition easier.

If Rev360 delivers on its goals, it could help reduce stress in tax compliance, improve service delivery, and strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s tax system.

CAC Name Search Nigeria: How to Check Your Preferable Business Names and Company Name

Before you pay anyone to register a business name in Nigeria, the first thing you should do is a CAC name search. Many people lose money because they trust fake agents, duplicated business names, edited certificates, or people who claim a name is “available” without checking the official Corporate Affairs Commission portal. The CAC name search helps you confirm whether a business name, company name, incorporated trustee, or registered entity already exists in the CAC database. It also helps you avoid choosing a name that may later be rejected during registration. As of 2026, the official CAC search process is done through the Corporate Affairs Commission’s online platforms, especially the public search section and the Company Registration Portal, also called the CRP or iCRP portal. The CAC public search page allows users to search existing companies and business entities by categories such as All, RC Number, AV Code, and Approved Name. A CAC name search before registering or transact...

NIN Registration in Nigeria: Meaning, Requirements, Benefits, and How to Get Your NIN

The National Identification Number, commonly called NIN, is now one of the most important identity records in Nigeria. It is not just a number printed on a slip. It is a unique identity number connected to a person’s official record in the National Identity Database. Once a person is enrolled, the number becomes part of that person’s identity for life. In simple terms, NIN helps the government and approved institutions confirm that a person is who they claim to be. This is why it is now requested for many important services across the country. Today, NIN is required in many areas of daily life. You may need it when registering or linking your SIM card, opening or updating a bank account, applying for an international passport, correcting official records, processing certain school or employment documents, and accessing some government-related services. Many organizations now use NIN as a way to reduce identity fraud, duplicate records, and false information. This is why every Nigerian ...

New 13-Digit Tax ID in Nigeria: What It Means for Individuals, Businesses, and Corporate Bank Accounts

Nigeria’s tax identification system has entered a new phase with the introduction of the new 13-digit Tax ID. This new Tax ID now replaces the old 10-digit TIN and is designed to make tax identification easier, more secure, and more connected across Nigeria’s tax system. The Tax Identification Number, now commonly called Tax ID, is a unique number jointly issued by the Nigeria Revenue Service and the Joint Revenue Board for identifying individuals and businesses for tax administration, compliance, and enforcement. The official Nigerian Tax ID Portal describes it as a unique number issued in line with Nigerian tax laws for individuals and entities.  For individuals, the Tax ID is linked to the National Identification Number, NIN. For businesses, companies, and registered entities, it is linked to the Corporate Affairs Commission registration number. This means individuals can retrieve their Tax ID using NIN, while registered businesses can retrieve theirs using CAC details.  Wh...
